HAVING read an article and letter in last week's Evesham Journal, I must point out that both the article and Mr Powells letter, miss the point entirely.
As should be obvious from the name alone, 'Ruralists Against Green Erosion' is opposed to any development on Greenfield land where an alternative brownfield site is available. The case for Evesham United Football Club to develop a greenfield site does not exist.
Clive Bostle quoted various policies in his letter in last weeks Evesham Journal, which should have been sufficient to stop this proposed development before it reached the present stage.
It is now hoped that Wychavon District Council will remember their duty to the wider community in preserving the open southern approach to our town. If not, then I think a 'Public Enquiry' should be instigated to thoroughly scrutinise this contentious planning decision. I have now written to my MP to request such a hearing.
