A RAIDER armed with a handgun and wearing a balaclava fled with a "substantial" amount of cash after holding up a Stourport post office.
The robber, who sped off in a red Vauxhall Nova driven by an unknown accomplice, entered Areley Kings Post Office at 10.15am on Tuesday.
The getaway car, registration H291 WMW, which had been stolen from Tybridge Street, Worcester, on Monday, was later found abandoned at the rear of shops in Queens Road, Walshes Estate, Stourport.
The offender who held up the post office is described as 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build. He wore a red waist-length jacket with white markings on the sleeves and blue trousers.
Police have appealed for witnesses at Areley Common, Walshes Estate and in particular Queens Road.
They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen vehicles travelling at speed in or around the area.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Kidderminster Police on 01562 820888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
