FIVE new homes will be built in Hartlebury Road, Stourport, after councillors were told they would not infringe neighbours' human rights.

The new development will be off a private drive on the site which is between the junctions of Hartlebury Road with Wilden Lane and Worcester Road, opposite Olympus Gardens and next to The Willows, bounded by the River Stour. It will replace a chalet bungalow with a large garden.

Wyre Forest District Council's planning (development control) committee has given the green light to the plan by Worcestershire Building Services, despite receiving letters from neighbours who felt their light and privacy would be affected.

But it was a revised application which planning officer Quita Morgan said would overcome these objections.

She said the site is allocated for residential development in the Local Plan, adding: "The proximity and relationship of the proposed dwellings to the existing is such as to be expected within a residential area and I am of the view human rights would not be infrnged."

Councillors Dick Barton and David Gourley agreed the revised plans were "much improved".
