WYRE Forest folk will brew up funds for charity when they take part in the world's biggest coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Relief.

The charity hopes to make this year's event more successful than ever and has a national target of raising between £2.5 and £3 million in just one day for people with cancer.

Lynn Manville, of Cookley, is preparing to stage her fifth coffee morning when she takes part in the 11th staging of the event on Friday, September 28.

Mrs Manville, who has previously held an event in Stourport, will have tea and coffee flowing at Cookley Sebright Endowed First School between 9am and lunchtime.

She said: "This is a brilliant event which always proves very popular around the country. People have such a compassion for cancer sufferers and I hope all the Wyre Forest coffee mornings are well supported."

Elsewhere in the village, Janet Pitt is hosting a coffee morning at the Cookley Sports and Social Club.

Other events between 10am and noon will take place at High Habberley Nursing Home, Kidder-minster; Wribbenhall First School, Bewdley; and at 3 Pelham Lodge, Kidderminster, the home of Ann and Eric Mole.
