BRETFORTON fought hard just to pip the club's 'Specials' to the post in last Saturday's home tournament.
In earlier games against Campden and Blockley they had to work hard but their strong defence of Jane Wheeler, Marion Icke and Lesley Harrison outwitted the moves and pushed the game forward enabling Bretforton to score.
The next two games against Bourton and Bidford saw some excellent moves by the front line of Lorna Beddis, Holly Hicks, Julie Hall and Jude Edgehill who were strongly supported by midfielders Liz Dallan, Sophie Corbett and captain Emma Walker.
It was obvious by the last match which was 'Bretforton Specials' that the midfielders were running out of steam and once again they had to work hard with the defence which saw Sue Palmer defending well and keeper Fiona Jordan produce some excellent shots off Debbie Slatter, enabling them to secure their lead, which they did - just!
