EVESHAM'S men's senior side made a positive start to their pre-season campaign with a solid display against Burton.

With a new-look starting line-up they were slow to start, They started to move the ball around well at times, but struggled to retain possession and lacked organisation in defence.

On one of Evesham's rare ventures forward they took the lead when a deflected Martin Husbands shot was turned into the net by Ben Brown.

However, slack defending let Burton back into the game when Nicholas was helpless to save a powerful strike.

This goal raised Evesham spirits and a second goal soon followed after a quick interchanges between Martin, Moss and Husbands ended with Mark Dufty calmly stroking the ball home.

The remainder of the game saw spells of sloppy passing and defensive play before Hoskins added a final goal for Evesham.
