FORMER Wyre Forest MP David Lock notched an impressive voting record in the last parliament, figures reveal.

Despite having responsibilities as a minister in the Lord Chancellor's Department, Mr Lock scored an impressive 76 per cent, putting him 133rd out of 659 MPs.

Mr Lock was ousted by Health Concern candidate Dr Richard Taylor in June's election.

Meanwhile, another district politician, no longer in parliament, had the best voting record in Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

Former Leominster MP Peter Temple-Morris, who stood down at the last election, was placed 45th on the list after taking part in 84 per cent of votes. Mr Temple-Morris, whose constituency included Rock, Ribbesford, Bliss Gate, Heightington, Callow Hill and Pound Bank, lost his seat to Conservative Bill Wiggin at the June election.

West Worcestershire MP Sir Michael Spicer, whose constituency covers Dunley, had a voting record of 54 per cent and was 455th.

Mid-Worcestershire MP Peter Luff took part in 69 per cent of votes.

This put the MP whose constituency covers Hartlebury, Torton and Summerfield in 219th place.
