WOMEN across the town who fancy the idea of becoming a firefighter will soon have the opportunity to see what the job is like at an awareness day.
The day-long event will give women a real insight into a career in the fire service with the chance of performing strength tests, hose running and using specialist equipment.
The day has been set up in an attempt to attract more women to the job and those wishing to pursue a career can apply in the next recruitment drive in November.
Anyone wanting to take part in the day on Sunday September 30 must register with the brigade's personnel department on 01905 24454.
