THE way 150 firefighters battled to control the biggest blaze in Redditch for years was faultless, according to a post-fire investigation report, writes Becky Procter.
Hydraulic platforms, water carriers and 22 fire engines were used to tackle the fire at Tesco, in Oakenshaw, on Saturday, August 4.
Redditch Fire Station commander Andy Sims said thanks to an appeal in the Redditch Advertiser for footage of the fire, a debrief had been successfully completed.
The fire raged mainly in the roof as scores of customers were quickly evacuated from the store and Mr Sims said he was grateful to staff for the way they assisted fire crews.
Fire crews from Redditch will be at Tesco throughout this week collecting for the brigade's Benevolent Fund.
