A POWER cut to 30 shops in the Kingfisher Centre on Thursday was caused when contractors working on the site cut through four power cables.
Nobody was hurt in the incident but it left some shops without power for most of the trading day after the electricity went off at about 11am.
GPU Power UK brought in generators to get shops back on line.
A spokesman said the incident was unfortunate and the company was due to reconnect the centre to mains supply tonight.
Power will be lost for about two hours while work is carried out but it will be done out of trading time.
