YOUNGSTERS in Inkberrow were rooting for success when they entered a competition to grow the largest sunflower.

Children in the reception class at Inkberrow First School grew their own sunflowers at home during the summer break.

And five-year-old Monty Alexander, of Perrymill Farm, won the contest with his sunflower which reached the dizzy heights of 9ft 11ins and the wondrous width of a whole foot across.
