DEAR EDITOR - It is of little surprise to read that Rubery's councillor is of course outraged at the Bromsgrove District Council proposal to erect some decent signs at the boundaries.
He would doubtless prefer the gullible to think they were still in Birmingham or somehow associated with that city.
He does nothing to promote our Worcestershire heritage, geography or administration and indeed is wholly compliant to the ongoing insult that Rubery residents suffer with a Birmingham postal address and phone area and post code.
I hope that the council will push ahead whatever the cost or the strong opposition with these new signs at the 'Border'. A huge over the road gantry style would suit best like a genuine border crossing point marking both pride and certainty in our independent district administration - outside Birmingham, the West Midlands whatever - and wholly "in" Worcestershire.
Cllr McDonald has always been hankering for a Birmingham take over - remember Frankley - despite the overwhelming vote of Rubery people. So clearly his opinion can be disregarded.
