STUDLEY revelation Richard Kavanagh is poised to join Midland Alliance big-spenders Bromsgrove Rovers.

But BKL assistant manager John Mitchell is adamant the former Paget full back will play, and be cup-tied, in the FA Vase on Saturday.

The Bees assistant, left in charge with Mark Chambers on holiday, received a seven day approach on Saturday, and was asked by Rovers boss Steve Daniels to waive the waiting period before he could be officially approached.

Kavanagh has been one of Studley's most consistent performers after joining from Paget in the wake of Bees captain Mark Davis' switch to Feckenham.

But with Studley unable to pay players Mitchell says he cannot compete with moneybags Rovers.

Mitchell welcomes back star midfielder Steve Duncan for Saturday's Vase trip to Leicester outfit Friar Lane OB (ko3pm).

Duncan has battled back to fitness and could be set for an earlier than expected return after player-coach Trevor Whittington tore his groin in Saturday's 3-1 loss to Chasetown.

Defender Craig Gillett is available but midfielder Kenny Fergie is suspended for another fortnight and striker Kevin Rowlands faces a ban after being sent off for an alleged elbow on Saturday.

BKL assistant Mitchell admitted he knew noting about Saturday's opponents who play the equivalent of a division below the Bees.
