AN elderly, partially sighted and disabled woman was the victim of two bogus council workers at her Batchley home on Tuesday evening.

The incident happened at about 5pm in Bromsgrove Road and police are urging anyone with any information to come forward.

The victim, in her 70s, was sitting in her lounge when she heard her door bell ring. As she got up she was greeted by two men who had walked into her home.

The men told the woman they were from social services and starting chatting to her.

Police said the men asked her for change for a £20 note and also asked for a glass of water which the woman refused to give.

One of the men then used the toilet after which the two men, who had never been left alone by the woman, left.

Police said they did not know if anything was stolen from the woman.

The men were described as white, in their 20s to early 30s, of slim build, with short, mousy hair.

Police believe they escaped in a white car.

Anyone with information can call Redditch police on 584888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
