GIVEN the awesome coverage of the horrors in Manhattan, I do not believe that any person could not be moved at the sight of the images.
However, given that quality papers such as the Daily Telegraph or the TV did not step into the realm of "gruesome" why did you, a local paper, have to print the stomach-churning pictures of people plunging to their deaths?
I find your action in doing so disgraceful and unnecessary. This puts the Evening News firmly in the gutter with papers of that ilk.
JOHN W PEDLEY,
Worcester.
Editor's note: Both The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Times, among others, summarised the horror by using such images, dreadful though they were. So did television news.
