REDDITCH chairman Rod Laight wants fit-again midfielder Scott Colcombe to 'pull a few strings' and get the Sky Sports cameras to the Valley for a home FA Cup tie against Kettering.

Laight made the request with tongue firmly in cheek after the wing back's kiss-and-tell revelations to the News of the World on Sunday.

The former Torquay star, seen sporting a broad grin in the stands at Gresley on Saturday, told of his hotel sex romps with Sky stunner Helen Chamberlain after leaving the Third Division side.

Colcombe allegedly scored four times with the blonde bombshell after dropping out of the professional game to join Doncaster Rovers.

But enquiries about Torquay nut Chamberlain were met with a non-commital response this week suggesting the whistle was blown on their steamy hotel meetings before Colcombe joined the Reds.

'It was all true,' the pocket dynamo told The Advertiser this week.

'I didn't ring them to sell the story, I'm not that sort of bloke.

'A friend of mine tried to sell a similar story to them and when they heard about me they gave me a call.'

Defender Mark Creighton is targeting the visit of Cirencester on Saturday (ko 3pm), and with Nigel Niblett, Colcombe and Jamie McWilliams back in action United are almost at full strength.

Redditch have a Worcestershire derby at Evesham on Tuesday (ko 7.30pm).

Former England legend Peter Shilton will be at the Valley for a sportsman's evening on Thursday, October 11. Tickets cost £28 and are available from the club on 67450.
