SPICE and rice were on the menu at a birthday bash thrown by a Droitwich Spa restaurateur.

Raj Tandoori invited civic dignitaries, business people and friends to its 20th anniversary party.

The Queen Street restaurant has been serving townsfolk with spicy dishes since 1982 and proprietor Azad Maih wanted to celebrate two decades of success with a free party on Thursday September 6

Droitwich Spa's Tory MP, Peter Luff, and town mayor Maureen Lawley (Con, Droit. Central) were among the guests.

Mr Maih said: "It was great to see so many townsfolk eating in my restaurant.

"Our chef has been here 20 years and I am proud to be running such a recommended restaurant."
