THIS was a well deserved win from a Vic team without several key men and players playing out of position.
The breakthrough came mid-way through the first half when Andy Mackin finished brilliantly from just inside the area. Vics' team spirit and togetherness showed as they fought and battled for every ball in the second half.
They withstood a sustained period of pressure by Mostyn, who were determined to get an equaliser.
Vics nearly put the game out of Mostyn's reach in the last ten minutes when a counter-attack found Mackin, but only the bar prevented the score being doubled.
In the dying moments Paul Chasemore made a great run down the left wing and, despite being injured, ran in on goal, only to be hacked down ruthlessly on the edge of the box. The free kick came to nothing and Vics celebrated a great away win to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
