FAIRFIELD went into round two when they travelled to Worcester and defeated Division One side The Albion.
Fairfield made a bright start, putting The Albion under pressure in the early stages and creating a few half chances. One saw Robert Hall's shot hit the bar and rebound to safety. Stuart Byng and Paul Newbon both went close on two occasions. Fairfield came out in the second half and continued to create chances. On the hour they took the lead with an excellent 25-yard strike.
With Fairfield well on top they increased their lead ten minutes later when Robert Cummings was brought down in the box and Carl Downing saw his spot kick well saved only for Downing to follow up and convert the rebound.
Seventy-five minutes into the game Paul Newbon headed home from a right wing cross to make it 3-0. In the dying minutes The Albion scored from close range after keeper Stuart Brooks looked to have been fouled.
