BROMSGROVE Town U7s 0 Shirley Town Colts U7s 4. Four goals in the first half settled this exciting encounter in the Open Cup. Shirley had won their last match 12-0 and Bromsgrove's defence of Sam Albrow, Tom Lucas and Max Galla were always busy. The second half was more balanced with chances at both ends. Debutant Billy Skinner came closest to scoring for Bromsgrove with a low shot from outside the penalty area, whilst Shirley were only denied by a couple of fine saves from goalkeeper Ben Lucas. Bromsgrove MoM was Billy Skinner for never giving up.

Bromsgrove Corinthians U12s 1 Halesowen Town Colts U12s 2. A first half of good play from the Corinthians with many missed opportunities, but by the break they found themselves trailing by one goal. The second half brought the home team their second goal with the Corries still playing well. Peter Jenvey's strike for the Corinthians gave some inspiration but the final whistle brought the game to a disappointing end. MoM was Scott Henbury.

Cookley Boys U13s 1 Bromsgrove Athletic U13s 11. Athletic took a while to get into their stride against early defiance by Cookley. However, once they stepped up a gear Cookley were overcome with goals by Matthew Hill (four), MoM Joe Naughton (three) and one each for Donato Casamassa, Oliver Lambert, James Sheehy and Karl Miles. A solid performance by midfielder Daniel Jones and a tidy back three saw Athletic take the points.

Droitwich Spa Eagles U15s 1 Droitwich Spa Boys U15s 5. Eagles battled hard to hold Spa Boys to 1-1 at half time and hitting the post could have given them the lead. Goals from Glyn Coulter could not stop a strong finish from Spa in the second half. MoM was Alex Kolb.

Hanbury U13s 2 Chelmsley Town U13s 7. A disappointing start to this year's league campaign saw Hanbury largely outplayed as they went four goals down by the break. A stronger performance in the second half was not enough to turn the tide, but should give some encouragement to the home side with two well taken goals from Luke Mathews and Mark Hayward. MoM went to Bradley Algar for a fine game in defence despite the result.

Bromsgrove Town Boys U9s 3 Pheonix Rangers U9s 0. Team-work of the highest order saw Bromsgrove continue their impressive form to go top of their league. Despite their dominance, they could not get the ball in the back of the net until MoM Dan Jones broke the deadlock and settled the home side down just before half-time. The second half was a carbon copy of the first, with the visitors unable to exert any pressure on Bromsgrove. Connor Wilson settled any home supporters' nerves with a stunning strike from outside the box to give a comfortable cushion on which to build. Bromsgrove found the extra goal they deserved in the final phase of the game when James Payne slotted home to complete a job well done.

Catshill were a different team in the second half, and nearly made it 5-4 when they hit the post. The next goal was always going to be crucial, and it was scored by Holy Name. After a stern half time talk, Park looked a different team and pulled the score back to 3-4 with goals from Tom Dennison and Nick Baker. However, pushing for an equaliser Park got caught and conceded a late goal

Alcester Athletic U11s 3 Catshill Warriors U11s 4. Catshill took the lead against their higher league opponents in the Open Cup when Nick Ingram finished off a fine move from close range. This prompted Alcester into action and saw them score two goals in close succession. However, Catshill ensured the half time scores were level again through leading scorer Ingram. In the second half, Catshill played tremendous football and deservedly went into the lead through long range efforts, first from Nat Cherrington then Ben Judd. Catshill goalkeepers Kieran Foxall and Sam Hardman-Smith, along with fantastic defending, ensured Alcester were frustrated. Although Alcester scored a late penalty, Catshill held on for a well-earned victory to take them through to the next round. MoM was Steve Payne.

Kinver Colts U10s 1 Droitwich Darts U10s 1. Missed chances ruined Darts' day. MoM Luke Duggan played superbly, scoring Darts only goal. Amie Savva made a promising start in her league debut and her cleverly drilled shot from 20 yards was well blocked on the goal line before the home side broke away to score. Their second was an unstoppable free kick. Swifts fought back to reduce the interval deficit to 1-2 thanks to Mikey Chambers. He equalised five minutes into the re-start only for the visitors to go 2-4 behind with 15 minutes to go. Chambers squeezed in a third for his second hat trick in a fortnight and new signing Matt Reeves restored parity with a well taken dribbled shot. MoM was a back to form Lee Williamson.
