A COUPLE on an annual pilgrimage to a seaside resort feature in Hull Truck Theatre Company's latest production at Worcester's Swan Theatre this week.
September in the Rain sees Yorkshireman Jack and his wife Liz look back on their life together on a visit to Blackpool, the town they first visited as a young married couple 30 years previously.
The play, a bittersweet comedy by John Godber, is about married life with all its triumphs and regrets, rows, frustrations and unsung love.
The couple have spent a lifetime of hard-earned holidays in Blackpool, where they stay in a boarding house, eat chips on the seafront and paddle in the sea.
It's the great British seaside in its heyday with Blackpool Tower, The Big Dipper, donkey rides along the beach, ice-cream and, of course, the rain.
The show runs until Saturday, with evening performances at 7.30pm and a matinee at 2.30pm tomorrow.
Tickets cost £7-£14.50 from the box office on 01905 27322.
