LITTER louts and careless dog owners will face the long arm of the law if new plans aimed at tidying the town up are given the go-ahead.
Redditch Councillors on the public and environmental services committee were last night set to agree to the introduction of two new officers dedicated to tackling the problem of litter and dog fouling.
The move will see the new officers have, for the first time, powers to issue papers to begin prosecutions against offenders.
The new officers will patrol the town in a van displaying who they are and will carry out investigations into complaints about litter.
The posts will cost £33,000 for the first year.
