CARS were forced to queue in the road as hundreds of people converged on the town's newest fast food restaurant which opened last week.

KFC, at Trafford Retail Park, was inundated with customers, with some people waiting for more than an hour to be served.

Cars waiting had to queue on the road, causing problems for other road users.

A council planning department spokesman said: 'When looking at this application, we did take into consideration highway issues and sought advice from the Highways Partnership Unit.

'We will do this whenever such an application is considered.

'We don't know what measures can be taken if these problems continue.'
