RESIDENTS have given an overwhelming thumbs up to council plans to improve landscaping in Redditch.
Earlier this year, nearly 6,500 questionnaires were sent to households in 70 roads where the council intends to remove shrubs and improve access and security.
An impressive 33 per cent were completed and returned and 93 per cent of those agreed with the council's plans.
The council is drawing up detailed plans for each of the 70 roads using the feedback with work due to start at the end of October ending next year.
The council is also working with Worcestershire County Council, the community safety officer and police on the Safer Routes to School scheme.
Work includes making subways and walkways safer and will be completed by April 2002.
