FEW reasonable people would object to the laws on speeding being enforced providing the rest of the traffic regulations were enforced with equal vigour.

Could we be told how many on-the-spot £20 fines have been made for cycling on the pavement and how often the police go round and book everyone parked on the pavement?

Why is someone fined £60 for driving at 37mph on an empty road when every day motorists park illegally outside schools in this area, endangering the lives of children, other motorists and residents trying to enter or leave their homes and nothing is done?

One is left with the impression speed camera fines are an easy target and revenue for the Government and an easy option for the police with consequent resentment from the motorist.
