A WORCESTER group will discuss the installation of CCTV and major development plans when it meets tonight.

People living in the district are invited to attend St John's Traders' and Residents' Association meeting to make their views known.

"The association has been trying for some time to get CCTV cameras in St John's," said Dennis Ogle, chairman of the association.

"We will be discussing the possibility at the meeting and are hoping that two cameras could be installed here."

Protest group Save Our St John's will also be attending the meeting to discuss the proposed Sainsbury's supermarket.

"Save Our St John's are against the supermarket because of its size, not because it is a supermarket," said Mr Ogle.

"We have got a requirement list that we want Sainsbury's to think about.

"We would not mind a connect store like the little Sainsbury's in Lychgate"

The organiser of St John's mediaeval fayre, Ron Cantrill, will also be discussing how successful the event was this year.

Membership to the association is open to everyone with an interest in St John's.

The meeting is being held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Hall at 7.30pm.
