THE world has been shaken to its core by the horrific attack on America.
On Tuesday September 11, four planes were hijacked by terrorists.
The suicide attackers flew two jets into the World Trade Centre, in the heart of New York, and another crashed into America's military nerve centre, the Pentagon.
A fourth plane, believed to be heading for Washington, crashed in a field near Pittsburgh.
Thousands of office workers, visitors and rescuers, including hundreds of Britons, are still missing.
The prime suspect for masterminding the atrocity is Islamic fanatic Osama Bin Laden.
US president George W Bush said the attacks were acts of war.
