I AM not religious enough to quote the Bible in public but I am willing to read the lesson at a Cathedral Service.
On Sunday, September 9, the Eucharist Old Testament reading was Jeremiah Chapter 18 v 1-11.
When I read it the previous week I was not feeling at ease. I would not ask anyone else to read it if I would not do it myself.
On Sunday, I read it from the pulpit. I felt inwardly moved, something which had not happened before. I did not know what was due to happen in New York two days later, but I was not surprised.
What Jeremiah forecast came about. Let us sympathise and think of their grief-stricken families. But let us also remember that the USA has sent machines of war and money to help Israel and the IRA in the past.
