IN the next week or so The Cancer Research Campaign will be writing to many of your readers telling them how they can help in the fight against cancer and I urge as many people as possible to support this worthwhile cause.
I have a very personal reason for back the campaign. I was first diagnosed at the age of nine with Hodgkin's Disease, a rare form of cancer.
This develops in the lymphatic system, which helps the body fight diseases and infections. After surviving this once, my family and I were devastated when it then returned when I was 15.
However, thanks to improved treatment I am now fit and well and living life to the full.
A letter will be dropping through doors soon telling your readers how they can help us find new treatments and cures, not only for Hodgkin's Disease, but every type of cancer.
Without the continued support of people like them, I would not be alive today, let alone fulfilling my ambitions and dreams.
