MALVERN Olympic cyclist Ceris Gilfillan was back on international duty again last weekend after a couple of weeks back at home.

The final round of the Women's World Cup in Switzerland was the first race in Ceris' final preparation for October's World Championships in Lisbon, Portugal.

Over a hilly course Ceris got stuck in a small group of riders with no team mates to help her in her chase of the leaders, eventually finishing a fine 25th place in a class field, and one of only two Brits to finish.

Brother James Gilfillan took on some of Britain's finest time trialists in the National Circuit Time Trail Championships at Barrow-upon-Soar in Leicestershire.

A 30 mile race comprising of three laps on a course where the strong winds caused more problems that the terrain itself. James took tenth place in a time that saw him just over one minute down on the third place finisher in a tightly packed field.

This weekend sees all of Malvern's top cyclists in action and topping the bill are Liam Killeen and Tracy Moseley who are in Colorado, USA for the World Mountain Bike Championships.

Liam competes in the Under 23 Cross Country event today (Friday) looking to improve on his strong European Champs where a last lap crash saw him finish in sixth place.

Tracy is a strong contender for a medal in the Women's Downhill on Saturday.

Ceris Gilfillan competes in an International Time Trial in Northern France having competed in a stage race in Switzerland during the week.

Tim Wood takes on the flat out speed merchants in the National Ten Mile Championships, an event where he has taken a top ten place.

James Gilfillan travels back to his old training roads to race in the International Tour of the Peak in Derbyshire based at Buxton and taking in two laps of the climbs of Snake Pass, Bradwell, Chinley and Chunnel.
