MATHON, Cradley & Storridge Tennis Club held their finals day on Saturday, which was well attended by club members and friends.

Mark Kavanagh successfully retained his three titles. Mark won the Men's Singles final 6-2, 6-0 against Phil Toghill.

This was followed by the most competitive match of the day when Mark partnering Peter Flagg in the Men's Doubles recovered from a set down to win 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 against Chris Brandon-White & Duncan Hannaford.

In the Mixed Doubles Mark & Jacki Styles comfortably beat Steve Meredith & Jean Roberts 6-4, 6-2.

The Ladies Singles was guaranteed a new winner in the absence of holder Amanda Godsland due to injury, Jean Roberts won 6-4, 6-3 against Janet Brown to lift the Ladies Singles trophy.

The Ladies Doubles was an entertaining match in which Sonja Sanderson & Janet Brown who recovered from being 5-2 down in the first set to win 7-5, 6-4 against their hard hitting opponents Jean Roberts & Carol Dandy.

The club would like to thank in particular Jack Hadley, Richard Smith and Chris Brandon-White who all made sure the day was well organised and most enjoyable.
