MALVERN Ladies FC travelled to Cirencester on Sunday for their first match of the season in the Gloucester County Women's Football League.

CIRENCESTER TOWN 4, MALVERN LADIES FC 0

Straight from the kick off Malvern went on the attack and only a good save from the Cirencester keeper prevented a goal in the first 30 seconds. Against the run of play Cirencester took the lead in the 29th minute with a long shot.

Malvern had 11 corners in the first half and only good goal keeping and defending kept Malvern Ladies from scoring. Half time 1-0.

The second half was the complete opposite of the first half with Cirencester doing all the attacking. They scored their second goal with a 20 yard free kick which found its way through the crowded penalty area and into the corner of the net. In the 72nd minute a through ball caught the Malvern defence out and the Cirencester forwards calmly slotted the ball home. Despite getting more possession Malvern still failed to penetrate the home defence. In the 89th minute Cirencester made it 4-0.

Flick Slater had a good game for Malvern.
