WEST Malvern's disastrous Worcester Saturday Division One start continued when they conceded three goals in a matter of five minutes.

WEST MALVERN 1, VINE ATHLETIC 4

The game stated brightly but the Vine scored first through slack marking allowing the centre forward in to score after 25 minutes. The West came back strongly and within ten minutes they were level. Good work between Will Hardy, Dan Oakley and Dougie Hawes resulted in Dougie Hawes being pulled down by the keeper, from the resulting penalty Gareth Smith scored.

The game fell apart in the 60th minute for the West when they conceded three goals in a matter of five minutes. The first was the result of poor defending, the second keeper Steve Newman made an error, although he then redeemed himself with two brilliant saves before the third goal was scored after poor defensive play allowed a forward to turn inside the box and score.

Tomorrow (Saturday) West Malvern, who are sponsored by Amey, travel to Upton Town Reserves, players meet at the Bluebell, Guarlford Road at 2pm for a 3pm kick-off.
