ANOTHER good win for Radar last Sunday in the Bernard Finnegan Cup.

MALVERN RADAR 4, RM DEERS LEAP 0

The breezy conditions at Victoria Park caused both teams problems in the opening exchanges and although the visitors are two divisions below Radar they certainly held their own.

As the first half went on Radar gradually began to get on top and D L's keeper Ben Chambers pulled off excellent diving saves to keep out Andy Myhill's splendid long range volley and Lee Brookes' 10 yard drive. The opening goal came on the half hour when Russ Brewer's long ball caused some hesitancy and Trevor Bagnall nipped in to nudge the ball past the keeper.

Radar were then unlucky not to be awarded a second goal when Dave Marshall's header appeared to be well over the line before being hacked away.

With the wind behind them in the second half, Radar were always going to be on top and it was no real surprise when they added the second goal, full back James Curtis reacting quickly to score from six yards following a goalmouth scramble.

It was 3-0 on the hour when Myhill scored a deserved goal with an accurate drive from the edge of the area.

Stout defending from John Repton and Clive Glover together with two more fine saves from Chambers kept out further Radar efforts.

Radar subs Ivor May and Duane Willis were introduced and May almost had a disastrous start when his back pass fell short only for him to be rescued by keeper Chris Ball who saved well from Ian Threadgold.

Willis at the other end was showing some nimble footwork and when he crossed from the left, defender Phil Birch powered a header into the top corner to make the final score 4-0.

This Sunday Radar are at home again in the Worcester Infirmary Cup, entertaining AK 81. Players to meet Victoria Park at 9.45am.
