Club AC30 overtake Callow End Harriers to lead the Malvern Football League on goal difference after another convincing victory in the second week of competition.

Their 5-0 success away at Old Bush Willie Thornes saw them bag four goals in the opening 45 minutes of the game thanks to a brace from Dan Haywood and Danny Morris respectively. A chance for the home side just before the interval was thwarted by keeper Hall in the Club AC 30 goal to keep their 4-0 lead intact.

In the second period and with the Old Bush making some tactical adjustments to their side, further effort in the second period saw them hit the post and reduce the stem of goals, however a late goal from substitute Paul Young increased the advantage for Club AC 30 which sees them move to the top of the division on goal difference.

Bull Allstars successful start to the season continued with a 7-2 win over local rivals Brewery at Ross Road playing fields. Jamie James was on top form for the Allstars as he netted five times and along with goals from Paul James and Matthew Gurney they move into second place. Mark Herbert was on target for the Brewery who are still searching for their first points.

Bell Inn 98 retained their 100 per cent record with another win, this time at home to opening day leaders Callow End Harriers. However it was Callow End Harriers who scored the opening goal to give them a 1-0 lead up until the stroke of half time when David Beech netted to take both sides in at the break with one goal apiece.

In the second period a Tony Reynolds hat-trick sealed the win for the home side as they move into third position pleased having conceded only two goals in as many games.

Interthornes start to the season was plunged into further disappointment as they were overcome by Fromes Hill by 18 goals to one. Their home advantage was of little consequence as the experienced Herefordshire outfit outran their opposition. Dave Eaton netted four times, Shaun Taylor and James Howard each bagged a hat-trick along with a brace each for Darren Smith and substitute Andy Davis. The additional goals came from Islin Poole, Andy Brimell, Nigel Dix and Matt Phillips.

Kempsey United's opening home fixture of the season gave them an important three points over Talbot Head. Lee Burton and Simon Vaughan gave them a good start in the opening half and with a further effort from Stuart Stanton in the second period only a David Holmes goal in the final minutes of the game gave Talbot Head a consolation to make the score 3-1.

In the opening week of the Under 18s Youth Division sponsored by www.thesoccersite.co.uk, Campden Town started their season with an impressive 8-0 victory over newcomers Warndon Youth. Matt Raff was on target four times for the visitors, along with two goals for Jon Roberts and one each for Robbie White and Matt Bromillow.

Malvern Town's debut in the League went well as they defeated last seasons champions Tupsley Pegasus Juniors 3-0 in Hereford. Ed Lyons, Lee Hooper and Dale Humphries were Towns' scorers.

Welland also started their season brightly with a 6-1 win over Libbery Wanderers. Jamie Thackarey scored a hat-trick for the home side as Tim Saunders, Ed Wray and Alex Jelleyman also scored.
