American act Kevin Montgomery has been lined up to play Worcester's Marrs Barr at the end of the month.

The renowned performer is the singer/songwriter with Paint, which features Montgomery, Doug Pettibone, Robert Reynolds and Paul Deakin. The latter pair also play for The Mavericks.

It is Montgomery's second trip - he plays on September 25 - to the Marrs Bar and legendary steel guitarist Al Perkins, who is closely associated with Chris Hillman and has played with most of the big names in California rock, will be with him.

Perkins started out in the 60s in Shiloh with future Eagle Don Henley, moved on to the Flying Burrito Brothers and then, with Chris Hillman, joined Manassas.

After that, they started the Southern Hillman Furay Band.

In the early 80s, Perkins was reunited with Hillman for two acoustic solo LPs and then recorded under the name Ever Call Ready. Perkins also guested on Life Goes On (NA, 1992), the final album by Hillman's Desert Rose Band.
