BUS shelters throughout Malvern could be set for a revamp after town councillors agreed to consider replacing the ones it owns with a standard design.
Members heard that the benefits could include "protecting people using them from inclement weather" and the opportunity to raise revenue by letting advertising space.
Anti-social behaviour could also be discouraged within the shelters, thanks to their transparent design.
At the same time, contracting out the management of the shelters could be considered by the council.
Coun Keith Philips urged acting town clerk Rosemary Lansdowne, who said she had already put the plans in motion and was due to meet with a bus shelter company this week, to prepare a report on the proposals. Coun Graham Myatt added his praise for the idea and singled out a bus shelter in Link Top as a matter of priority.
