MALVERN are back to strength for the NPI Cup match against Old Halesonians at Spring Lane tomorrow (Saturday), kick-off 3pm.

Prop Sean Lancett starts for his delayed debut match, partnering James Daniel and Andy Logan, whilst Vince Hill joins Adie MacBurney in the second row and Dave Merlin comes in at number eight.

Director of rugby David Robins is taking nothing for granted.

He said: "Cup rugby is a great leveller and the fact that Halesonians are two divisions below us in Midlands Three counts for nothing. They will be "up for it" as the underdogs and are bound to play above themselves, just like Handsworth last term.

"However, after succumbing to Dunstablians last week in the toughest possible opening league fixture, the lads will be out to prove a point or two. Hopefully, this Cup match will help the squad stay sharp for the home derby match against Hereford the following week."
