THE generosity of a charitable trust may mean the difference between life and death for Alcester folk, writes Helen Clarke.

The town is set to have a defribillator after Church Street Properties made a £5,000 donation to the cause.

The idea was the brainchild of Councillor Jim Kenyon, who suggested the scheme at a council meeting months ago.

The portable machine will be used by a group of 'first responders', who will be notified as soon as there is a report of someone in the area suffering with heart problems.

Anyone who is first aid trained, has a car and spare time and would like to become a first responder or make a donation can call Mr Casey on 01789 764039.
