SIMON Milner emerged victorious after last weekend's Severn Shield series match at Beauchamp Court.

The winner caught perch and roach from peg six on feeder tactics on a day when the water overall produced disappointing results.

This Saturday it's the first leg of the Wyer Cup to be contested at Holm Lacey near Hereford.

The draw will take place at the river bridge at 8am on a water noted for chub and barbel fishing.

Members uncertain of directions should meet at Merstow Green at 7am.

TEN members met for the second match in the new autumn season, held this week at Broadacres near Hanbury.

Despite the cold blustery winds that faced them on Sunday, Wayne Panting proved to be resilient enough to land 9-12-0 of carp to run out victorious, closely followed in second place by Roy Thomson with a 5-3-0 and bringing up the rear in third place was Bill Scarott with 0-4-0.

The next match is at Lemington Lakes, Moreton-in-Marsh with a later time of drawing of 9am fish from 10am to 3pm.

MEMBERS fished for the M & M Worms La Sienne Cup at Tunnel Barn Farm last Sunday when Dave Smith came out on top.

The next fixture is on Sunday, September 30 for the first round of the Townsend Trophy at Rissington Road.

The club's presentation evening will take place later on the same day at the Crown Inn, Waterside, 7.30 for 8pm. Meal preferences to Cyril Thompson on 01386 45880.

THE colder weather has slowed fishing although good results are still to be had on meat, worm and maggot baits.

Paste is starting to give results for better carp and tench.

The Top Pool is giving plenty of bags over 20lb with anglers looking for nets of around 30lb on the Bottom Pool.

House Pools are giving good sport with nets of near 60lb still on the cards.

Try pegs near the islands for the better carp.
