Littleton 1,

Handsworth Cont Star Res 1

LITTLETON maintained their unbeaten record when they drew 1-1 last Saturday.

A strong wind blowing down the ground had an effect on play, but both teams played good football and a draw was a fair result.

Littleton had the advantage of the wind in the first half, and a long goal kick from Adam Moss saw Philip Haines fasten on to the ball. His flick was pushed over the bar and, from the corner, Des Cox headed over.

Handsworth went close when Moss was forced to a full-length drive. On the half hour Giovanni Fireschi hit a fierce half volley which flashed past the post with Moss beaten.

On 40 minutes, Littleton went ahead. Cox broke down the right and his pinpoint pass across goal was sidefooted in by Haines.

Immediately after a powerful shot from 20 yards by Curtis Major flew over the bar.

An inswinging corner put Moss under pressure but he managed to push the ball on to a post.

Handsworth, though, were level on 65 minutes when a free kick found Nathan Wallen and he netted easily.

Littleton pushed forward and went close through Darren Reeves and Haines. Handsworth were still dangerous but there were no more goals in a game sponsored by Willersey Provisions.
