SAILING: BLUSTERY conditions created some exciting and close competition at Trimpley.
In the GP14 single-handed race, Roger Stretton beat Terry Gumbley who was forced to retire.
The Noon Newcomers Trophy was won by Terry Bolton with crew Glen Caulwell.
Tom Fletcher, with club commodore John Dixon, won the Junior Helm race.
Seven GP14s raced in the main Summer Series races which saw some lively and hard-fought sailing.
Mick James and crew Debbie Tissiman won the noon race from Mark Tissiman and daughter Hannah. Bolton and Caulwell took the handicap race.
The Tissimans won the last two races with Phil Quarry and Mark Tromans then Andy Allan and crew James Allan in second.
In the Laser class races, Phil Quarry - sailing single handed for the first time in a while - beat John Cookson.
