GOLFER Greg Anthony made it a hat-trick of wins when he took the ninth Bransford Golf Club championship in blustery conditions.

The 19-year-old shot rounds of 76 and 77 to beat Andy Lammas (82, 79) by eight strokes with Gordon Jack playing off six in third place with scores of 79 and 83.

After the victory Greg paid tribute to his coach, Lisa Jones, who has helped him get down to a handicap of one.

"I owe it all to Lisa who has helped me tremendously," he said.

"It's great to make it three on the trot in windy and tough conditions.

"It was one of those sorts of days where it was a bit of a slog.

"I had a three shot lead after the first round but in those conditions anything can happen and I just had to play it steady."

Greg, who is from Malvern, is still weighing up his future and is deciding whether to turn professional.

He has been a member at Bransford for four years and is also a member of Worcester Golf and Country Club at Boughton Park. Next week Greg is competing in the Worcestershire Open.

Meanwhile the Bransford Club recorded a fine 7-1 win in a mixed match against Brickhampton Golf Club.
