A WORCESTER squaddie has been doing her bit to help recruiting before she leaves for her first tour in Kosovo.

Pte Lindsay Rawlings joined the Army last year through the Worcester Army Careers Office.

She completed her training and joined the Royal Logistics Corps based in Colchester.

Pte Rawlings, of Bilford Avenue, Astwood, will embark on her first operational tour when the regiment goes to Kosovo next month, to help with administrative and clerical work.

"We are very proud of her," said C/Sgt Peter Elcock at the careers' office.

Pte Tim Booker, from Drakes Broughton, signed up with the careers' office three years ago and has since joined the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment, now serving in Northern Ireland.

Both Pte Rawlings and Pte Booker have returned to the careers' office to help with recruiting.

They have been enlisting young people under the age 26 who are reasonably fit and in good health.

Pte Booker will soon be rejoining the "Woofers" for operational duties in support of the RUC.

They will be stationed in Northern Ireland until Christmas before starting tours of duty in Kenya, Botswana and Cyprus next year.
