Chipping Campden Ladies 2, FISSC 2
CAMPDEN Ladies, sponsored by Pyments of Campden, started their season with a home game against FISSC.
Playing with only ten players and without a regular goalkeeper, captain Sally Holmes volunteered to play in goal.
The first half was evenly balanced with plenty of end to end play. Campden's new player, Hannah Marshall, made many determined efforts down the left side to put Campden ahead but it was no score by half time.
Campden started the second half well and broke the deadlock with a well-worked side effort by Melissa Maxwell.
FISSC soon levelled but Sarah Bragg put Campden in front again as she chased a goal pass from Anghared Morgan and neatly slotted the ball into the goal.
FISSC again quickly cancelled out Campden's lead with another goal from Sue Maisey.
Blockley 4, Chipping Campden 2
THIS local derby was a keenly contested game saw both sides having several chances but it was Blockley who capitalised on theirs in the first half after which they led 3-0.
One goal by Chris Grant and two from Olivia Drink-water, who latched on to a pass across the D.
The second half saw both sides attacking consistently but both side's defences held firm, until Campden scored from a quick break.
Sonia Carter added another goal for Blockley which was followed shortly after by another Campden goal.
