EURO MP Philip Bushill-Matthews is leading an inquiry into the package holiday industry.
There are fears some EU member states are not following agreed guidelines on ensuring holidaymakers get the breaks they were promised and their rights are fully protected.
The Wyre Forest Euro MP has been given the task of establishing what is happening throughout the community.
He said: "I am delighted to have been asked to lead this important inquiry.
"This is a real opportunity to ensure that holidaymakers throughout the EU get the holidays they have paid for."
The Euro MP stressed anyone who feels their rights have not been properly protected on holiday should write to him at the European Parliament, ASP 14E217, Rue Wiertz, B-1047 Brussels, Belgium.
