A POSTER campaign urging people to attend a town-wide meeting with Redditch police has been set up after previously poor turnouts.

The meeting, on Thursday, September 27, has been organised by Redditch Police Community Consultative Group and aims to highlight any problems residents may have.

And after previous public meetings failed to attract visitors, the group decided to hold the next one in the White Lion pub in Astwood Bank.

Chairman of the PCCG, Arthur Price, said turnout to meetings before had been very poor so a number of posters had been drawn up and put up around the town.

He said: "It is a good meeting when there will be the opportunity to speak directly to the police force which runs this town.

"And unless people come along to air their concerns, then any problems will not be known."

Insp Gareth Prosser, who will be attending the meeting, said: "The aim of the meeting is to invite members of the community to draw to the attention of the police any concerns they may have in relation to anti-social behaviour in the town or any other policing issues.

"We as a police force will listen to all their concerns and we will act upon them in a positive manner."
