Women's Section: The annual flower and vegetable show took place recently.

The show trophy was won by R Maxwell for leeks, the domestic trophy by M Ingleby for decorated cake and there was a special commendation for H Cardus for marmalade.

Other prize winners were as follows: Class 1, peas - R Maxwell; Class 2, runner beans - J Curtis, Class 3, shallots - J Curtis; Class 4, onions dressed - M Cook; Class 5, onions undressed - R Maxwell.

Class 7,Potatoes - J Grange; Class 8, carrots long - R Maxwell; Class 9, carrots short, R Maxwell; Class 11, Beetroot - M Hemming; Class 12, marrow - R Maxwell; Class 14, cabbage - B Rice; Class 17, cauliflower - B Rice; Class 18, cucumber - M Ingleby; Class 19, tomatoes - J Symons.
