THREE people were left badly shaken after being threatened by masked raiders brandishing a baseball bat in a Wythall off-licence.

The robbery took place at Victoria Wines, Station Road, at about 8.40pm on Sunday.

Two masked men walked into the off-licence and threatened two male members of staff with a baseball bat.

They ordered one of the staff into the office part of the shop and made the other stay with them.

A male customer then came into the shop and was made to stand in the corner of the store.

The robbers then stole a quantity of cash and some cigarettes and escaped in a red car, possibly a Rover.

The first man was described as white, in his mid 20s, about 6ft tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black woolly hat and a hockey mask, a buttoned up denim jacket, faded jeans and trainers. He was carrying a baseball bat.

The second man was also white, in his 20s, about 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build. He was wearing a black balaclava, denim jeans and a denim jacket.

A police spokesman said: "No-one was hurt during the robbery, however the staff and customer were badly shaken by their ordeal."
