I NOTE that "Development ideas for hospital site" (Evening News, September 5) ignores the possibility of providing some extra bed spaces when the WRI closes next March.
These will be necessary to relieve possible "bed-blocking" that leads inevitably to "bodies on trolleys" in hospital corridors.
Let us see what happens in Worcestershire's hospitals this winter before ruling in favour only of "a hotel, offices, leisure facility and arts centre."
The site is, after all, owned by the NHS. The use of a small part of it to avoid "bed-blocking" would eliminate the need for any patients from Worcestershire to be treated in German hospitals.
